craft for a crafter's sake

dear friends, please take a minute to read more about the fiercegrrl fund, recently put together by meaghan o'malley to assist a member of the craft community who is in need. nicole puzan is 26 years old and fighting ovarian cancer. she is now unemployed and struggling to cover her medical expenses.

the fiercegrrl fund is accepting donations, 100% of which will go directly to nicole. you can find a link to donate via paypal on the right side of the fiercegrrl blog.

there is also a craft auction underway. right now you can bid on this sparkly little necklace handcrafted by juliet of the broken plate pendant company:

for more information on how to bid, see this post. more auctions will follow as other crafters (including moonlight bindery and kathy vales) are getting on board and donating items to help nicole. you'll get a chance to bid on a little something from this chickadee soon too.

like it says on the blog: "donations need not just be monetary." there are still plenty of ways to help out that cost little more than your time. you can donate blood in nicole's name or take part in a 5k run/walk to raise funds for the national ovarian cancer coalition. or simply stop by the blog and leave a comment of support for nicole.
