christmas in january continued...

as promised, here are a couple of cafe aprons made to match the potholders. they are fully reversible and feature a sectioned center pocket on one side. flipped around, you have two slip pockets on the hip. choose the one that suits your style or your entree. either way you have extra long ties to wrap around twice or to make one big bow in the back.

christmas in january!

here's part of a special order that hopefully brightened someone's holiday...or at least helped out with the hot stuff. these potholder pairs are patched together with contrasting fabrics and double stuffed with special batting so that they can take the heat and stay in the kitchen. they feature a special slip pocket on the back so that you can slide your hand inside and prevent it from being scalded, scorched or otherwise burned when reaching inside the oven.

specially designed to coordinate with aprons that you'll meet tomorrow, they make a great gift any time of the year for anyone with culinary aspirations...or for those who just want to look the part.

a long winter's nap

this chickadee has been hibernating! and squirreling away ideas for new crafty endeavors in the new year. the blog has been neglected but the batteries are now recharged and ready. one thing that has been going strong is the partnership with fibre space in alexandria. the bag re-orders keep on coming!

this is a favorite project because it supports a great local store with a focus on environmental and community friendly practices. each batch of bags is a chance to breathe new life into old fabrics. they are saved from the dim recesses of linen closets and a grim future in a garbage heap and reworked into fun and functional project bags that save stitches for knitters in the dc/nova area. everyone knows that an organized knitter is a happy knitter! check out the last lovin' spoonful of project bag bliss below:

these flirty florals were a hit! they're already sold out.
but fret not, a new batch is on its way soon
