here's a little look at what this chickadee will be contributing to the fiercegrrl fund. when it hits the auction block you'll be the first to know!
in the meantime, keep up with the goings on over at the blog. as of this writing, over $1000 has been raised for nicole. thank you to everyone who has contributed. and don't forget about the other ways to get involved, including the national ovarian cancer coalition walk to break the silence on ovarian cancer. learn more on the fiercegrrl friend page!
look what magically appeared on my doorstep! a happy, handsome panguin™ swaddled in some sweet surprises. thank you pang of pretty little fings for sending my new friend and for also including the perfect packaging products. you'll be seeing them again for sure...
here's a charming kitchen set, sure to please any happy hostess. a cafe apron with contrasting sash and side pockets is accompanied by a pair of reversible quilted potholders. this set was sewn by special request but you can easily have your own by creating a custom order from chickadee central. we're always happy to oblige...
dear friends, please take a minute to read more about the fiercegrrl fund, recently put together by meaghan o'malley to assist a member of the craft community who is in need. nicole puzan is 26 years old and fighting ovarian cancer. she is now unemployed and struggling to cover her medical expenses.
the fiercegrrl fund is accepting donations, 100% of which will go directly to nicole. you can find a link to donate via paypal on the right side of the fiercegrrl blog.
there is also a craft auction underway. right now you can bid on this sparkly little necklace handcrafted by juliet of the broken plate pendant company:
for more information on how to bid, see this post. more auctions will follow as other crafters (including moonlight bindery and kathy vales) are getting on board and donating items to help nicole. you'll get a chance to bid on a little something from this chickadee soon too.
like it says on the blog: "donations need not just be monetary." there are still plenty of ways to help out that cost little more than your time. you can donate blood in nicole's name or take part in a 5k run/walk to raise funds for the national ovarian cancer coalition. or simply stop by the blog and leave a comment of support for nicole.
you might remember this post about oh ginger's week-long give-a-way in february. this little chickadee followed her own instructions and left a comment every day with crossed fingers. and it paid off! take a look at the loot that landed here at chickadee central the other day:
thank you random number generator for choosing me! and thank you meaghan for sending this victor so many spoils! the collection of cubicle art is totally cute and oh so lovingly crafted. and the little pin from crafty folk is precious!
if you weren't lucky enough to win something in february, you can find more from meaghan in her online store. and if you need to add some adorable to your life, check out crafty folk's etsy shop.
